Amigos School Reviews
Quality Score: 5 Post Date:2010-04-23
“My son loves Amigos! All the teachers he has had so far have been absolutely great! He grew up with both languages and is proud that he is in a dual immersion program. Wonderful principal as well. The librarian knows the kids by name and has a sense of what they like to read. The playground is great. I was a bit worried about the public elementary schools when I moved here, but have been impressed with Amigos.” This review was posted by a parent.

“Our daughter feels happy to go to school each day. The small class size and warmth of the teachers and administrators exudes love and stability. Amigos is a public, two-way immersion bilingual English-Spanish school. Half the children are native Spanish speakers, and half are native English speakers. My Anglo daughter speaks, reads and writes in Spanish as if she were a native speaker, and it is very strong part of her self-esteem. She also has a broader knowledge of the world around her - economics, politics and history. This program is more challenging than traditional schools but the payoff has been well worth it. I feel it has strengthened her knowledge and facility with her first language - English. The principal is an outstanding administrator. She garners the support and resources she needs so no child is left behind. Some grades are also getting Chinese instruction on a part-time basis.” This review was posted by a parent.
