“I am so glad that my kids are in the Garfield. They have been there for 5 years, and almost all their teachers have done a SUPERB job of creating a fun, inclusive and stimulating atmosphere for them to learn in. It's a small, caring community in which all the teachers know all the students and all the students know what the rules and values of the school are. The principal is very committed to giving her teachers as much freedom as possible, and the result is that teachers are constantly updating their materials and curricula. The school has an excellent partnership with Boston College's Education program, so most teachers have full-time pre-practicum aides helping in the class. This makes it much easier for the kids to learn. Finally, the music teacher, Mr. Farretta, does an amazing job of getting the kids excited about music.” This review was posted by a parent.
